Rear turn lamps

I know people have 'upgraded' to the 03-04 rear turn lamps (red/orange) from the 3 segment red/white ones. Is the reverse true as well? Simple screw on without modification?

I did this but rewired them so the reverse lights are in the bumper and turn signals are up high. Other than that, it is a direct swap.

If anyone has done the 99-02 "upgrade" and has their old pair collecting dust I would be interested in a purchase
