Default Rear Turn Signal Issue

So I need to get my new to me 2000 Disco 2 inspected....

I had a cracked rear turn signal lens. So I replace it with a new one but noticed that the bulb holder is corroded and falling apart. So I replace it. Still no turn signal or fog light!

Turns out the plug is all corroded and I can't even plug the new taillight/bulb holder in!

I guess I need a new plug??? How would I get one? Or could I just hard wire it by cutting out the plug?

Thanks guys....I really want to get this thing on the road..

Andy

Why not check with one of the dismantlers (parts guys) below? Or salvage yard if any in your area? Or Rovers North (nice exploded diagrams) at Land Rover Discovery II Rear Light Electrical Parts Available from RoversNorth.com

That's my plan, wasn't sure if the dismantlers would just cut off a plug and sell it...

I would think in your metro area there would be some big u-pull-da-partz self serve yards, always an education....

Ok I found a great part source for my D2......bought a used rear wiper motor from him, and asked if he had a bulb holder for my rear turn signal/fog light, and he threw them in for free!

I found out that the real issue with the turn signal/fog light was the female connector, so I emailed him and he mailed it out free as well, with dialectric grease and shrink tubing!

So, needless to say, this guy gets all of my future requestd for used parts....

Here is is web site: Misc, Electrical Switches items in Cardiff Rover Spares store on eBay!
