turn signal issue
hello everybody! i recently bought a 1998 discovery and i notice that every time i switch my turn signal on, it shows blinking trailer picture next to blinking arrows. does anyone know if that's how it supposed to be or what could be wrong. thanks!
You don't have a trailer connected do you? It IS supposed to do that while a trailer is connected, but not when there isn't. I believe the extra load on the wiring is what activates it. You might check your trailer plug to see it it is shorted or corroded.
The info on it is in the owners manual.
If the trailer is connected it flashes in conjunction with your indicators.
If a trailer light is burned out, it will flash once then remain off.
If no trailer is fitted then it will flash once then remain off until the switch is operated again.
If you have high wattage bulbs in your indicators it could cause it to flash all the time since it's based on the load on the system.
