Default Rebuilding a rear hub for a 2003 D2

Ok,

So I've got a rumble from driver's rear hub. After looking at BPUtah's site, then changing my shorts over the price, I found this writeup:

Replacing a Rear Hub - Land Rover Technical Archive - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

Can anyone comment as to viability of this? Is it a d1 only deal, and we are cursed with these sealed, non rebuildable units?

$400/wheel is just madness for a truck worth maybe $6K.

Check eBay, you can find them for less than $80 each new. Good quality, I've had one on my truck for several thousand miles.

Ah yes, the FleaBay.

I'll hunt around there. For less than 25% of the cost, it seems like a no-brainer.

thank you

Ah, I forget about that every time. I cant remember which, but either the front or the rear has a longer wheel speed sensor plug, that's the only difference between the two. I believe the front is the longer one, so it should work in the rear, but someone please confirm or deny that for me.

both front and rear call for a tayor 100050 replacement hub, so the sensor could be the difference.

BPU has one mark rear with the o-ring for 140

Front and rear hubs are the same, only difference is the ABS sensor
