My son is moving to Bozeman, MT over the weekend and I'm letting him take our 07 LR3. I'm looking for some recommendations for local service once he is there. Mt first priority is a new key/key fob. I have one and the fob cover is falling apart. I want to just go ahead and order a replacement and have it programmed for him -- and I should have did it a couple of weeks ago. Our locale dealer in Charlotte said it would be 2 weeks to get a key ordered and then they need the truck for 2 hours for programming.

So, we're headed out on Saturday! Was hoping that I could locate a reputable trained service provider and then wanted to understand if the a key can be ordered and programmed by a non dealer service provider?

Any help on either question would be appreciated..

 

my experience with a new key and programing is likely a dealer thing - albeit some AutoClub or perhaps a good lock smith could do something

I don't believe there is a LR dealership in MT - Boise or SLC or Denver are probably close as they come

not sure about an independent in bozeman - best for a local to weigh in here
