Default Recommended fluids

Hey guys,

I just got my truck last weekend. I’d like to put together a list of recommended fluids for the Disco so I can keep some on hand. What do you recommend for the following and let me know if I missed something.

Engie oil: Currently use Rotella T5 15w/40
Trans fluid
Gear oil
Brake fluid
Coolant
Blinker fluid

Thanks!

Well, I found pretty much what I need in the Major Service thread...helps to read.

If there’s anything that anyone would like to add, please do.

Engie oil: Currently use Rotella T5 15w/40
Trans fluid: slippery but not too slippery
Gear oil: lubricious
Brake fluid: extra grippy
Coolant: I like pink
Blinker fluid: the brighter the better

Personally, l like T4. Less chance of leakage at seals, especially...if they are originals. Synthetic oils have smaller molecules than dino oils, so when you couple that with old, tired seals with micro cracks...you get leaks. Noticed a big difference between T4 and T5...and T6 was like watching a black version of Niagara falls.

Thanks! Thats what the PO ran in the truck, swearing that the truck likes it the best. He was a pretty thourough dude when it come to maintenance. Said it slowed oil consumption and worked out well. I’m going to dig into it a bit more and see what the general consensus is. Ive got to change the oil in around 1k more miles. I’m not opposed to trying something different, especially since this thing is going to get a brand new engine this year anyway. It’s not a big deal. When it will be important is when I do get the new engine.
