Recommended mechanic in Denver

Mike is legendary... :-)
Well, I would test drive that Rover in the Denver area.
Run it up and down hills.
Make sure it does not heat up.
Make sure it shifts well.
Make sure you can run it up to 80MPH without vibrations.
Take off the coolant cap.
Make sure it does not SPEW out coolant continuously - Your goal here is to assure head gasket is good.
Check the hi/low range selector works.
Check all mirrors.
All windows.
Check all door locks come up and down.
Get under the rover.
check the drive shafts. They need grease nipples on them. If not then bid a lower price.
Check the tires.
If Michelin then the owner probably took care of all other things.
If Goodyear - maybe other things were overlooked (cheap P.O.).
Check steering.
Listen for wheel bearings.
Check parking brake.
Make sure NO warning lights are on.
Get a scanner and try to pull codes which are not displayed yet (Pending codes).
Make sure the air injection system is working on cold start (if fitted).
This makes a LOUD vacuum cleaner noise.
Make sure the sun roofs go up and down, open and close.
Check the seats - back and forth and the angles.
Check the radio.
Look at the oil.
Check power steering levels.
Check coolant level.
Make sure the big fan moves stiff when trying to spin it.
Make sure the alternator is not grinding.
ditto for the water pump.
That's about it.
