recommended pads and rotors, all four corners
my '04 Discovery needs new pads and rotors. i was reminded again of this after a near miss this weekend that required heavy braking and swerving off the road in order to avoid T-boning a pickup and his trailer.
fortunately, i was already slowing down since the speed limit had dropped from 55 to 35 inside the town limits.
i do some light towing on occasion and haul construction materials usually 1,000 lbs and under.
any recommendations on heavy duty pads and rotors? i'm willing to spend the money for stopping power and safety.

In 22 years owning my '99 DII I have replaced pads and rotors at all four corners of the truck more than a few times. I have always used the least expensive I could find from national parts chains, L8, and even from Amazon.
No problems whatsoever, but I very rarely brake hard, if ever.

thanks, Walt. I went with Brembo rotors and pads. we'll see how they hold up and if i can feel a difference.
worked on the brakes a bit yesterday morning. the fronts were in good shape overall. pads were a bit glazed with some build up at the edges. so pulled them, cleaned them up. the brake material was on the pads was still about 3/8" thick. the rotors were in good shape as well. both calipers had one guide pin each that was not moving. pulled all the guide pins and cleaned them up. i still would have changed the front pads and rotors but the set screw that holds the rotor in place was stripped. so, just cleaned everything up and reinstalled. i have some screw extractors coming and will do everything at a later date.
after cleaning up the front pads and caliper guide pins the Discovery stops more smoothly.
