My window stopped working I could hear it trying. So I took it apart, eventually, once I separated the motor from the regulator and plugged in the motor, it worked. It did not work previously, so apparently the wind-y mechanism was binding it up. I put it back together and all is good. It seems the motor itself is dry. Below, is what i am talking about. Can that be lubricated? Or would that mess up the electical motor?
Most likely it's the brushes on the motor are worn, pull white plastic piece out and inspect brushes, if they are all the way out of the holder...then they are toast.
Thanks, I am sure it is toast somewhere. I did take the motor apart.
The motor and black, gear, both spin fine, if not a bit rough when they are apart. As soon as I put them back together, they are frozen rock solid. cant budge it at all. Any thoughts on this?
One thing with aftermarket window motors = seal for wiring is crap. I highly recommend using some RTV or silicone where the wires enter the motor. I replaced a 1 year old unit I put in a friend's D2. He said it just quit working. Removed it & found it rusted like the Titanic and the only entry point which I could find = where the wires go into the motor. New one was 27.00
