How did you have good enough access to do that? Wait, you were doing headgaskets, right? I guess that gave you some more room to work. Still seems tedious.

There was lots of room with the top end off. No problem, took about 20 minutes to cut, solder, and heat shrink. I always use heat shrink on Individual wires and then use a heat shrink sleeve over the connections that has an apoxy inside that melts and then seals the whole think up when it's cool

I change my wires with the coil pack where it is from factory.

Never even thought about moving it.

I doubt I would have bothered with it if I hadn't had the heads off, but I'm def glad I did. My plan for the vehicle is reliability and ease of maintenence on the road and on the trail. As time goes on I would like to simplify/delete/modify any piece of convoluted British engineering that is unreliable or unfixable on the trail. It's a tall order but I think it's possible.
