Remote Control System and A/C help - SOLVED
Well, here I go again. Yesterday I changed my 2000 DII cabin headliner, complete, purchased new from the Dealer ($ 450.00 ....ooouch), and after the install and connecting all the wires, home link, rearview mirror, all three cabin lights, and A pillar tweeter speakers (there were no more wires, as I do not have rear A/C) the following has happened: the cabin lights do not work, my remote control system does not work (door keyworks), the clock does not work (clock light is OK) and also, when I turn on the car, A/Cdoes not memorize the previous setting and is alwaysOFF upon start-up, then whenturned on, it defaults to initial set-up, in Celsius, just like when battery has been disconnected.

It sounds like you have a battery feed wire that's not providing power. Check all your fuses. One may have blown if you touched a wire to ground while removing the old headliner or installing the new one.
I've had problems like yours which were almost always are caused by an incomplete circuit, such as a bad ground connection (corroded device or no connection at all). I can think of no easy way to trace it down other than to go to eachcomponent and ensure you have a clean/tight connection. Also check each wire for any cracks in the wire insulation all along its routing. If this wasn't it and you do find a cure, please let us know.
You may have to pull it back down and look for a pinched wire. I know you have a motion detector in one of your cabin lights, and if your alarm isn't woring, you may have gounded some wires..
Seems like I will have to drop the head liner again. I may have not seen it, but the remote control receiver may be somewhere up there and some wire may have been disconnected.
Does anybody have wiring diagram Disco II ? [sm=hail.gif]

Good news. I have decided to go over all the fuses one more time, right before I was going to pull down the newly installed headliner. And.......what do you know......I did find a burned fuse, No. F20, 15A,in secondary fuse box, under the steering column. The fuse legend in the cover instructs to see the manual on this one. We do know now what it protects and what the symptoms are when one is burned out. It was easy after all.
Now, there is a side benefit of a new headliner - the car smell like new again (well, almost) [sm=smiley20.gif]

My headliner is sagging and I was wondering if it was easier and or cheaper to just spray the the headliner with adhesive and reattach the cloth? $450 seems like a worthwhile investment but my disco is an overseas car so I am not sure if I can get a whole headliner.
The headliner fabric is attached to rather fragile thin foam layer and the separation is caused by disintegration of the foam itself. It really can not be re-attached, however, you could have an upholstery shop remove the entire panel, which is fairly easy, and re-cover it withanother similar headliner fabric.
Regarding the headliner acquisition, the cardboardbox it ships in is huge, about 97"L x 60"W x 12"H [sm=smiley24.gif]
