I am in the same situation that you are in right down to the model year. I did some looking around and found out that only the dealership can program a new key. I know for a fact that my local dealer (Bluff City Rover ) charges a full hour labor ($120) for the programing even though it takes 3 minutes. Basically I was looking at about $250 for a new working key. I bought my Discovery about a year ago and still have not taken the plunge. Maybe your local dealer, if you have one, will be a little more reasonable. Good luck.

Go to the dealer and have them first get you the Rover key code number for the truck, have a blank cut and then work on buying/programing the new remote that has to be done with a proper scanner with Rover software.
