Default Are the remote radio control switches illuminated?

Title says it all. It seems like my switches used to light up, but I can't remember? Are the radio steering wheel controls supposed to be back lit?? The rave shows pin 6 as "illumination", but that might be for the stereo itself...

Thanks for the reply. I may being having a brain fart on this subject due to the fact we purchased a used Lincoln MKZ recently and EVERYTHING is lit up on the dash and steering wheel and all throughout the interior...And when I was driving the Rover the other night I thought "shouldn't my radio controls be lit up on the steering wheel?"...lol

Neither the cruise control nor the radio control buttons on my wheel light up.
The D2 electrical library says that there's only an input and output wire to the remote buttons and button presses are determined by resistance -- doesn't mention lighting wiring.

The dash switches are all backlit when the headlights are on. If you have spots of darkness it's because the bulbs are out.

The question was about the steering wheel switches.
I took the shrouds off my steering column for another reason last night -- didn't see any lighting wires going to the buttons on either side of the wheel.

The switch pack on the wheel itself? Those aren't illuminated. I have volume buttons on the dash surround.
