Default Remote Start

Okay I am just going to say it I'm, a wuss, I have been utterly spoiled by my heated garage. But there is just no room in the garage for the Disco so he has to live outside where it is feakin cold. What I want to know is it possible to install either an after market security system with remote start or add remote start to the existing alarm system. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

If you live in an area where they salt the roads, a heated garage is worse for your car in the winter than leaving outside. It accelerates the corrosion from the salt.
Also, as mentioned many times, letting your car idle to warm up is worse for it than starting it and going after a minute or so. Unless maybe you don't drive far enough for it to ever warm up normally.

Well thats a good thing then thats theres no room for the Disco in there. Typically my cars are never dirty long enough even in winter for corrosion to be an issue I'm bit on washing the undercarriage every other week. It's not so much that I want it to idle to warm I just want the seats to be warm and the chill off.

go to a audio install place...they should have a auto start system that will work...I've thought about getting one myself..especially after putting in the heated seat switches. It would be nice for it be all warm and toasty in there when I get in.

Quit being a wuss, start it up, wait 30 seconds with the seat heaters on and drive, it will be good for you and a lot better your engine which will heat up faster when being driven and not become fouled with gas and carbon just tyo make you happy.

I agree excessive idling will cause carbon build up, but dumping lots of gas into a cold engine can cause gas to stick to cold cylinder walls which can get in the oil and cause varnish. Also, isn't it safer to drive while you are more comfortable and not preoccupied with freezing?

Ah, then connect a timed remote switch to the seat warmers.
I have a similar plan for my heated windscreens.
