Default Removing CD holder

Is there any way to remove the CD holder once the battery has been removed (in my case...battery, wiring harness, fuse boxes, etc)? While walking around the 01 today, l realized the CD holder was still beneath the seat. Pushed the button...but nothing happened. So, the question is...is my favotite John Denver CD going to the scrapyard tomorrow.

And no...l'm not removing the unit under the seat...it's to cold for that today.

Thank you, for any helpful info.

 Brian.

Cut the wires and grab a battery, find the power and hook to battery or I would say remove and plug in to running truck and pop out the CD that way

Country roads, take me home, to the place l belong...

Will live on.

Toughed it out and removed the unit as suggested by FNDisco. Three trim screws and three 10mm nuts and she was out.

I removed my CD player and measured out the area for a future powered subwoofer... 12"L x 14"W x 4"H
