Default replace both gaskets?

I did have the the heads resurfaced and checked for any problems and i had the machanic come down and look at the block to make sure it wasn't warped or scared. when i first put it back together one of the hose's sliped of and i over heated. i checked it the next morning and ever since the i have leaked coolant. then driveing to work on day what i thought was an exhaust leak got three time louder and i could feel the loss of power. bummed rides the rest of the weak and on Saturday while repairing the exhaust leak at the flang, i found the real problem, the head gasket was blown out and it looked to be one chunk comeing straight out from the cylinder. so i don't know much but i know it'll save me time and $ to just do the one side, but will i have to worry about the other one if i dont change it?
