Default Replace carpet with something more durable?

I am just curious if anyone has ever removed the carpet - say that in the rear of their D2 - and replaced it with something like a paint-on bedliner? I have black carpet and dog hair galore.

www.weathertech.com
I have one and I swear by it.
It gets dirty take it out, hose it off, let it dry and put it back.

Do you have the Weathertech one or someother brand?
I LOVE mine, it is a exact fit and my carpet looks brand new.
When I replaced my fuel pump last year the floor of my truck looked brand new too, all nice and shiny paint with no rust.
My truck came with a full set of floor mats and cargo liner and I am taking them with me to my grave.

If you want you can always do what my grandfather did, go to a carpet store, measure out the size of the cargo area, buy a leftover piece of carpet and cut it to size with a utility knife.
It will cost you like $10 and when it goes bad just throw it out.
He used to line the trunk of his cars with carpet remnants.
