Default Replace Front Crankshaft Seal Without Draining oil??

Can I change the Front Crankshaft Seal without draining the oil? Or will I have a ton of leakage if I don't drain first. I recently changed the oil and but would like to do the seal now while I have the fan off, etc for another project.

Any tips for doing the front crank seal?

You'll have no trouble. The oil level sits down in the oil pan. Getting the seal out with the timing cover still on the motor might be a little fun, but you can't pull the cover without dropping the pan.

I did that twice without draining oil. The old seals came off easily. You have to pull the harmonic balancer pulley out. The seal sits on the pulley's shaft. Then you can pull the seal out with your fingers.
