I started toying around with the idea of removing the smaller SAI vacuum tubing on the top of the engine and replace it with red HPS 9mm OD/3mm ID silicone heater hose ($30/10 ft). Just to pimp out the engine a little.
I laid out the SAI vacuum tubing to see what goes where and lengths needed. From the picture...
#1 is split off at a "Y" connector at the center of the engine and connects to both SAI control valves and 1 side of the vacuum solenoid valve,
#2 connects to the intake manifold and one side of the vacuum reservoir,
#3 connects to the other side of the vacuum solenoid valve and the other side for the vacuum reservoir.
If I do this, my concerns are extreme heat in the engine bay and also the vacuum pressure in the lines could collapse the silicone heater hose causing a restriction and a snowball effect "effing" up the rest of the system.
BTW... I'm also with the thought process of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" More to come...
*Yep... the IAC brackets are on backwards. lol

If ya got everything else workin' so well that all ya got ta think 'bout is pimpin' your ride sumthin' else surely gonna go wrong as soon as ya pimp it.
Jus' let it be ... Talk to her nice so she knows ya love her and thank da Lawd that there ain't nuthin' wrong!
Yeah... I guess I shouldn’t have said pimp out the engine. What I meant was a way to ‘improve‘ what’s on the engine.
My SAI vacuum tube rubber connectors are badly worn and torn. I think that is where the majority of my air leaks are coming from. I saw how @cvhyatt added zip ties to keep his rubber connectors connected which I added zip ties also.

I don't know what pressures those SAI tubes are subjected to, but typically hoses designed for liquids don't handle vacuum well. Smaller diameter tubes have more rigidity and might not collapse, but they also might, and cause problems.
Anybody know where I can get new vacuum lines for the SAI system that are less expensive than the set Atlantic British sells for $500+? I've already replaced everything else in the SAI system except the lines and the check valves on the valve covers and still getting the P1415 code all by its lonesome. Or can I use generic vacuum lines sold at AutoZone, etc.? Vehicle is a 2004 Disco 2 HSE with everything pretty much still stock.
Perfect. Thanks, Richard! As long as I'm living in NC, I have to get it to pass the emissions test. Probably moving to Florida this fall when I get COVID-furloughed from the airlines, so then I won't have to worry about it as much but that SES light is bugging the heck out of me.
Neither of those works work anymore, and I am lost trying to find replacements for these lines. I'm confident I can "fix" the spot in the middle of the hose that's a clean break, but on the SAI solenoid end, the hose broke clean at the elbow. Any shot you know where they could be found now?
