Default Replaced old plugs and wires...

So I replaced the old wires tonight with the Magnecor 8mm wires and the plugs with the Bosch Platinum +4's. Everything went smooth and the rover runs great so far, I can definitely tell that it idles a hell of a lot smoother and it feels like it has more get-up especially going uphill. Only question is this, when I pulled the old plugs, the 4 passenger side plugs (2,4,6,8 I believe) were filthy dirty with what looked like oil or smudge and the drivers side plugs (1,3,5,7) were so dry and brittle that they cracked in half on the way out, well the ceramic casing did at least, should I be concerned?

You probably have a small valve cover leak or someone spilled oil all over when topping up on your passenger side. On top of that they were probably old causing them to fall apart. Tighten down your valve covers and you should be fine.

Do you have SAI? Did you have to pull the manifold to get to the coil packs?

More power to ya. I tried to work around the Sai pipes on the firewall and have no clue how you guys are able to work the plug wires off the coil.

No codes, I'm at 25 miles since I swapped them out, it runs great, I was just worried about how different the plugs were from each side

you said the head gasket were done 10k ago, so I would give it a week or two and pull the new plugs one by one and see what they look like. You will have plenty of other things to worry about down the road.

You have to remove the SAI pipes that run along the back. I used a screw driver covered in electrical tape to pop off wires on the coil.
