Default What a day, new O2 scensors and now new plugs and wires!

Well, I figured my hands were so nice and dirty that from doing the O2 sensors (earlier posting) that I spent 3 hours changing out the wires and plugs. I followed the online tutorial for doing it without removing the plenum which is a great helpbut I'd swear the hardest part of the job is just getting the Magnacore cables back on to each of the connections at the firewall. Thespace isVERY VERY tight. Also getting the secondary air intake metal tubing in and out is a bit of a squeeze but it all worked out fine.

I used a sharpie pen to mark eachold cable as I removed them from the plugs, then I changed out each plug with a new Bosch platinum 4 and the new wires are the Magnacore 8mm ones recommended here. If anyone is contemplating this swap out don't sweat it, just give yourself a few hours and a clean workspace to keep things organized. Be diligent and double check the new cables against the old ones for length and double check yourself after attaching each wire to the coil that you have in fact put it on the right one. It's a pain in the butt to get the job done and find out one of the wire is on wrong! Have a good flashlight or worklight handy, I found it best to throw an old moving blanket on the passenger side of the engine compartment as at times I had to lie there with both hands down at the fire wall.

I finished up with no left over parts and when I started the engine it ran fine and didn't throw a code or anything else at me! I would add that I am at a bit of a disadvantage as I injured my left hand last month and cut a nerve and have no feeling in my left index finger (surgery next week to fix that) and that made it a real challenge to fit the cables onto the coil when you are pretty much doing it by feel.

Glad to hear you made it with no harm done to you.
Consider doing an induction cleaning now to get rid of a lot of carbon build up, the old truck will run even better afterwards.

That's great, Chris. Congrats.
I'll be undertaking the same task this upcoming weekend. Glad to know it's working out for everyone.
