Default Replaced Radiator and Now it sounds like a freight train

Hello All,

I replaced my radiator last night and follow up with a test drive. The problem is it sounded like the engine fan was pulling so much air that it was very very noticeable. Now after I was done with the job I did notice a "spare part" laying on the ground. It is a seal that goes under the radiator and seals between the radiator and frame. Could this void be causing this wind noise? It is the only thing that is different from the old radiator being in place.

Thanks for your support

Went out this morning and noticed that the coolant tank was near empty. Filled and Bleed and now what sounded like a wind noise must have actually been air in the system. The sound is gone now. I had bleed the system per RAVE but I guess you need to bleed the system multiple times when you completly empty the sytem. As for the rubber piece I forgot to install, I think it will find a nice home in the corner of the garage.

Always good to do a proper bleed, recheck the level again tomorrow before you start your engine and fill it to the cap.
As for the spacer, it does need to be reinstalled to prevent problems down the road.

Thanks Mike for the response. I think I should be able to get this rubber baffle piece back on without removeing the radiator, can you confirm since you are the expert?
