Default Replacement performance exhaust systems

I am considering replacing the exhaust system on my 2003 Discovery with new Borla (or equal) as offered by British Atlantic, these aftermarket exhausts advertise increased performance (any truth to their ads).
Have any of you replaced your exhausts system with one of the performance upgrade exhausts and were there any pitfalls.
Happy Holidays.

Before they started discounting the Borla exhausts- I purchased a Borla middle muffler and cut the rear muffler off adding a tip. It cost me about $200.00 when everything was said and done M/L. I painted the rest of the exhaust flat heat black to protect the welds to the SS parts. It sounded better. Maybe a tad more responsive but I would not expect anything great. I just wanted a more aggressive not when getting on the throttle. It idles quietly which is what I wanted. I think that Magnaflow has a muffler for the Disco now?

I wouldn't expect much if any performance gain from changing the muffler, just pick one you like the sound of. Borla's tend to be louder than magnaflows. I'm thinking of putting a 22" case magnaflow on my D2 at some point but tires and a lift have priority.

In Alabama we just throw on a pair of cherry bombs and after driving around for an hour or so we spray them down with a water hose and "bust um up real good"... You've never heard a sweeter sound.

Here is mine. I have the MagnaFlow Catback...with the factory resonator removed. It idles with normal sound...When I start the Rover it sounds good and angry. I dont think much acceleration performance was gained from this. More it seemed with my cold air intake installation. Maybe a little less restriction with the muffler.

Don't waste your money, you can get more out of a good tune up, keeping your tires aired up, doing an induction cleaning along with a can of 44K once a year.
