Default Replacing the door lock actuator

Hello all,
The passenger side door lock on my D2 stopped working and I was looking to replace the motor inside of the lock actuator. However, I have been reading posts on here saying that you cant get into the D2's lock actuator (you can only do so on a D1). Is this true? If not, is there a special technique I have to use to get in there. I'd hate to go through the trouble of getting the thing out of the truck just to find that I cant replace the motor. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

you can replace it, I had to take the window frame most of the way up and out.It is a challenge to get the linkage hooked back up! you need small hands!

Thanks for the reply. I think i can get the unit out of the truck. I just need to go to the store and get a bigger size bit for the door screws. As for removing the little motor inside of the actuator on a d2, is there anything special i need to know. Is this even possible. Im nervous because a couple of the old posts say that it is impossible to open the unit. Please get back to me. Thanks

All you can do is try and replace the motor, if that does not work then the door is already apart so just buy a good used one.

Either way you need to fix it.
