Does the lights on your sun visor illuminate when the mirror is exposed? If not, did it before? Do the interior lights in the headliner illuminate.

I had an issue where the wire that feeds the visor light was pinched causing a short. Unscrew the three screws securing the visor to the headliner and careful feed wires down through and check for twisted or bare looking wires.
