The green and yellow (GY) wire supplies power to the switch, and a green and brown (GN) wire supplies power to the BCM, mirror and lamps when the switch is closed (vehicle in reverse). The GY wire is always hot. I tapped into the GN wire under the console at connector C0681 for my camera. I added a low amperage fuse in the line while I was at it because that circuit is protected by a 15 amp fuse which is a bit big for the light wire used by the camera.

Have you looked into using wire at the Park Distance Control ECU connector? Looks like there may be a reverse only powered circuit going back there. If it'd work much easier than running another wire the whole distance.
......

Edit: Misunderstood need for circuit going to monitor for switching mode rather to power the camera only in reverse.

Glad you got it working as advertised.

Joe, just where and how did you end up tapping into the harness?

I tapped under the console as suggested. The green/brown wire. It was easy to run the reverse wire up to the unit that way. In the rear I used the wire right where it went into the reverse light since my camera is inside the bumper. Works flawlessly now and quite happy. Get you all some pics in a day.

For what it's worth, I tapped the same wire just off the BCU in my 2003. It was an easier run, as I didn't need to remove the console, just the cardboard cover under the glovebox.
