Sorry for the diversion but you know the stuff shady car dealers spray on the faded black bumpers of used cars that turns flat black and fuzzy after a few years... I need to recolor some plastic trim on the P38 and wish to avoid that stuff... any recommendation of the proper paint that won't look ugly after a few summers?

Well I managed to get one corner done on the fender flares. I think it turned out well. Looks better than stock fading gray patches...Will try and post pics later.
I put like 5 coats on....nice learning curve for putting that goopy crap on lol, but seems to be a nice cheap fix..

Yes to the clearcoat.
I've used both a satin clear and also a gloss clear on different trucks. Use any brand you like/trust just remember DON'T use a Clear made for Engines = zero UV protection.
