Or just buy an ebay SLABS box from a non-Air/non-SLS truck and swap it in.

Yeah, I meant to add that idea too but hit the SUBMIT button too quickly. They're inexpensive. The only problem I see with that idea is confirming the SLABS you are buying in non-air/non-SLS.

Thanks guys, I'll dig around and see if I can find one. I know there are a few DS2s at junkyards in KC, I'll start there and ebay and see what I can find. Just to clarify, is it the "SLABS ECU" (64-17 in the manual) that I need to replace?

Is there a way to verify that a used box will work?

Really, the only way to verify that it works is to plug it in.
I guess you will also have to visually confirm the rear suspension on the donor vehicle as well. I believe that the ACE system may also be controlled by that unit so you should check to see that the donor doesn't have that.
