Default Roof rack wind noise; how do you stop it?

I've had some ideas for a wind foil that lets the wind go around my roof rack without the loud noise. Anyone else researched or tried successfuly to stop or subdue this noise???

The only way to stop roof rack wind noise is to remove the rack.
If you put a dam on the front of the rack it will create more wind resistance and drop your MPG even more.

I am interested in your idea and how well it works.

Drive my E350 6.0 Diesel Van or H1 for a week. After that, you will not even notice the noise of your rook rack. Both of them are so loud, I wear Bose QC3 headphones when on anything longer than an hour drive.

Hard noise to get rid of, the even bigger problem is how to stop the 1.5 MPG loss in mileage, they are a huge wind drag.
