Unless you've installed a high lift camshaft with high pressure valve springs, the zinc and phosphorus levels in the Rotella line of oils are adequate for a broken-in Rover motor.

That seems to be the consensus by those in the know (not just Rover motors, but any broken in flat tappet motor), even on the latest revised specs.

God help you if you try to break in a new cam without additives on this new stuff. The horror stories and pictures have been a flowing around the Porsche, muscle car, and other Rover forums.

T-6, T-4, T-itties....who cares.
I run 15w-40 for the summer and 5w-40 for the winter, screw the over thinking, ITS JUST A OLD WORN OUT BROKEN PIECE OF CRAP PUSH ROD MOTOR NOT THE GOD DAMN SPACE SHUTTLE!!!!
Use a good heavy duty motor oil and a quality oil filter, change them every 5,000 miles and go have a ice cream cone.
There are better things to worry about.

Default RESEARCH and READING

Since things seem to have been straightened out already I'll keep it short and specific...

nope, never said it was. nowhere in my post did I mention "T". I (as you pointed out) called 5w / 40 "Shell T6". So let's just let your misquote of me slide since oil formulation and package labeling can be so confusing.

Confusing to who? Shell makes the product and they branded it T6 so I dare say it is not confusing to most of us. I call it what they call it... unless there is another Shell product also branded as T6 which is not in the Rotella line and is not a full synth product with Zinc levels higher than most readilly available oil products on the shleves...

So unless Schwarzenegger has decided to skip parts 4 and 5 and is making a T6 sometime soon I don't believe what I said in specific reference to Shell's Rotella line and current synthetic formualtion of 5w 40 oil called T6 was at all confusing.

Honestly, no hard feelings, just don't be so quick to crawl up someone's @$$. Re-read it then do some research on current info... you may find yourself saying "well huh, I did not know that..."

Peace and Love

p.s. Phil - I want my DVD copy of T- ******* back.
