Thank you - I have printed off the instructions!! Would having the misfires make my check engine light come on and blink at times - I really do not want the following to happen

The check engine light flashing means that
the catalytic convertors are being destroyed by unburned gasoline.

The check engine light flashing is saying "Emissions systems damage taking place"

You keep driving it like that -
the catalytic convertors will super heat maybe and melt all things around them.

You will ruin the catalytic converters.

More or less yes you will wreck them if you keep running it with misfires. Might want to check/change the CKPS or crank position. I had misfires because the CKPS was going out then the truck finally had major starting issues where it would not crank most of the time. It was 60 bucks, and wears out every 5 or so years.

Brought her to a local mechanic - the codes came back random misfires - codes only for # 3 & 4 this time. We are going to have him change plug wires and both coils - lets cross fingers and toes this is it.

Everyone's help as always is greatly appreciated. There is a lot I need to learn about my Rover

Lets hope you meant that you took it to a local independent Land Rover specialty shop. Not just a local mechanic or import shop.

Local import shops see Land Rover owners as walking Visa platinum cards and will charge you accordingly and maybe do other vile things to your pride and joy as they do not spend their time on these forums finding out all the tricks... such as installing a 198 degree stat, putting dexcool back in your radiator, using cheap filters, wrong plugs, synthetic 5w30 oil, etc.

If you must drive it - just reach back there and replace the one wire that is bad until you get more time.
