Rover will not shift out of park

RE: Rover will not shift out of park
Marlymarl,
The door lock problem is most likely due to a failed--or out of adjustment--actuator. These are electrical/mechanical solenoids on each door. You can still lock it manually because you are simply moving the linkage with the button--to the lock position--something the actuator does when energized by the fob or central lock switch. You must remove the door panel to service this item. SOMETIMES you can get away with loosening the fastening bolts and slightly re-positioning the actuator to get a little more life out of it. Most of the time it needs replacing. Read my info at http://www.eurotekapg.com/bdm.html regarding panel removal. I have the part available and in stock if you decide to move forward.
