RPM gauge problem

I was recently at silver lake, and long story short the wheels left the ground and my rpm gauge no longer works. All other gauges are fine.
I've took the cluster apart, and see no loose wires or such.
Where else do I look? Is it possible the cluster is "bad"?
Thanks in advance.

Fuse F14 in fuse box under dash.
There is no red wire from alternator to anything on a stock wiring harness. The big wire is brown, and is the main output headed toward underhood fuse box. The smaller brown/yellow wire also goes to a bolt on the alternator and then to the cluster where it meets the battery charge light. The small wire that plugs in on the back of the alternator is the tach lead, white and grey.
Download your own copy of the RAVE tech manuals, open up the electrical manual, and jump in. It has pictures of relay locations. Your description is not enough.
Hacked up electrical wires are fun to trouble shoot and require reasonable electrical skills. If uncomfortable with a volt/ohm meter this is either a time to learn something new or find an indy shop.
