Are RTE Front springs designed to be used with factory seats?
I was planning to install these 3" springs today (RR4-2) - however I noticed that the bottom of the front springs are flat, like the rear springs. The D2 seat is designed to support a rounded coil... RTE sells these seats: http://www.rte-fab.com/products?page...category_id=12
But I don't have those type of shocks.
Simon/RTE seems to be gone for the weekend.

Installed them. I went from 21" wheel center to fender on both sides with the TF springs, to 24" left, 23" right with RTE. Steel bumper, winch, dual batt. My rear is 21" w/ RTE springs. I was hesitant to risk messing up an even ride height, so I spoke at length with Simon before installing the fronts, and he assured me the ride height would work... clearly not so. I suppose the springs will need a few hundred miles to settle, but with 23/24" front, and 21" rear... that's a big difference.
Going to run these a few hundred miles and see where I'm at.
Good thing I put in d1 rear spring seats or else I'd be way off
Not sure who made the spacers I had in the back. Been years ago now. I liked the ride of the progressive springs just couldn't believe how far off the truck was from level.
I thought RTE was pretty much out of business now didn't realize they were still bringing out new product.

Simon bought Rte 3 years ago. He’s very thorough and helpful over the phone but I just couldn’t convince him that I was concerned the rte springs would lift me way more than the terrafirmas, not only are they taller but they’re also stiffer.
anyways, I do like how they drive so far, on pavement. Will take them off-road in the next couple weeks. I should probably do an alignment and also lengthen the panhard.

Yeah, the castor is probably way off now. I didn’t mean fixin anything, but nice to know how far off spec the castor is. Simon tried to sell me his castor corrected arms, but I found out they are only 3 degrees as well. Plus his are twice the price for only a modified factory part. The terrafirmas are way beefier.
