RTE Suspension Installed - Impressions
Thanks once again to this forum for providing so much information and assistance!
Simon, RTE-Fab was a pleasure to work with. I’ve read some past threads where he can be difficult to get a hold of at times but I didn’t experience that. I did call many times, especially during the install and if he didn’t pickup I got a call back a short time later.
Components are very high quality. Everything powder-coated with a dark grey metallic.
I thought the Terrafirma springs were a beefy upgrade but the RTE springs seem 2x as thick.
Shipments were accurate never missing anything and all parts fit very well.
Only complaint I have is wishing there were detailed step by step install directions with pics.
It took almost 10 months for the Bilstein 7100 shocks to be delivered. I opted for the medium tuning setup.
Replaced Terrafirma 2in MD springs / shocks and 1in spacer. Previous to that, had the Terrafirma 2in HD setup (way too harsh for me)
Impressions so far -
Only on road driving. Definitely soaks up the bumps better and harshness reduced from previous setup. I’m sure due to the extra inch of travel. Seems more stable on freeway, more planted.
Most noticeable was the reduction in the feeling of the unsprung weight.
I need to take some before and after measurements but the stance looks a bit better. Rear has come up some from previous setup.
**Truthfully for the money the Terrafirma setup provides Big Bang for the buck…

Not a problem. It’s actually a Jaguar color LKH, I believe is the code. Had the the rims done by paint shop. I initially tried using rattle can myself but didn’t go well !

Getting off topic, but how do you like those Yokohama's? I was just looking at a set for my Tahoe, but opted for the Firestone MT2 instead. Haven't gotten them in yet, but it was a close race between the two.
Curious how many miles you've got on them and any other insight. Hard to find long term reviews of either of those two tires.

The Tahoe set moved to the Disco. I've only been on one wheeling trip with them, but I thought they performed well.
