what tires are you running? One of my rovers is harsh unloaded and on street tire pressure. I have 410/100 7100s in the rear of my classic and they are pretty smooth with the truck unloaded.

I haven’t ever driven one, but RRC’s have the reputation of being the smoothest off road vehicle in existence.

having spent years trying to keep up with my D2 behind friends with classics off-road this is very accurate and the LWB I have is even smoother off-road (perfect wheel base length imo) and quicker/smoother in the minor stuff than the SWBs..

That said I think tires play a bigger role in ride than shocks do in these. I've swapped 3 different suspensions in my green D2 and the KO2s remained the same and it always has been harsh. No combo of spring or shock has made any noticeable difference.

Tires are not the issue for me... the rear is good the front is way too harsh to the point where I had someone look at them and think they might be defective. the rears are 430/130 fronts are 410/100. sending in the fronts to get rebuilt and possibly revalved...

Looking at an old pic I took of the box it shows 360/80. Not sure if that is front or back. I did ask Simon (RTE) for the medium setup valving.

I was recently in the Raleigh Durham area and whilst there I saw this beautiful original owner of an gold 04’. After stopping to admire it for a while, the owner came out to talk shop.

Long story short, and I have not verified this, and it absolutely could be wrong, but the fella mentioned that RTE was purchased by the British 4x4 Shop based out of Raleigh Durham.

Anyone heard of this happening? I love Simon’s stuff and have been working to get my D1 in a state that I can source some things from him.

Have not heard of that lately happening, RTE had changed hands in the past a few times before it ended up with Simon I believe but that would have been years ago.
