Default Rumbling noise when accelerating

I've got a 2000 V8 and recently been experiencing a low pitched rumbling sort of noise when accelerating and I'm wondering if you all can help me diagnose it or at least point me in the direction for what to check. I tried to get a video of it and you can sort of hear it, towards the end of the video you'll hear the noise stop a couple times as I lift my foot off the gas pedal. My first thought was that its the front drive shaft and I've ordered one just as a precaution though I would imagine that it would make a constant noise if anything since its spinning with the wheels? I've also heard the noise a failing driveshaft makes be described as more of a chirping or cricket type noise. I am hearing an intermittent squeaking noise, but I believe that's the serpentine belt since its pretty worn and it makes that noise when stationary as well. Making things a bit harder to diagnose is the exhaust manifold studs are broken on the left side letting a lot of extra engine noise out. I appreciate any help you all can give me.

Good to see such a well-lit dash! I have what may be a similar issue. I get a rumble at 60-65 MPH; a definite vibration. I've cheched wheels, tyres, etc. When it warms up a little I'm going to check the drive shaft properly, but I don't think there's any play. I looked at the flex disk at the rear diff and it's in poor shape. From reading about in on the forum this could be the cause so the solution is to replace the flex disc and the steel bush inside the shaft. That latter part seems to be a bit of a bitch to extract; an Indie who knows the vehicles said he'd just replace the shaft. (which presumably is why he's in business). I'm going to give it a shot. There are some helpful posts on the forum on the task.

I replaced the rubber coupler on mine which got rid of the vast majority of any vibration I had. And my original bushing seemed perfect so I didn't try to remove it.

Turns out it was the front drive shaft all along and I should've trusted my gut. Luckily I pulled it before it could explode, but I'll be driving around with the center lock on for a couple days until the replacement gets here. A previous owner had already replaced the front drive shaft, which made me initially rule it out, but didn't bother to get a greasable one for whatever reason and I guess it got cooked pretty quickly. The flex disk in the rear is shot as well though so I'll be replacing that too.

I'm glad you got it sorted.

For the rear coupling pick up a BMW Meyle MEY-3141523107HD It's a little thicker and excellant quality. I replaced a GKN coupling with a Britpart because of supply issues. Britpart didn't make it a year. Thing was worse than the 12yr old GKN it replaced. I also replaced the bushing since it was the original. I used the grease method and it worked after a few hammers. Good luck!
