Default rumbling sound with deceleration

I have a rumbling sound with deceleration. And it seems to be there all the time but quieter. I have replaced a front prop shaft for the common failure there. This is a different sound and seems to be coming from further back. I do have a leak from the transfer case that I will check this evening. There didn't seem to be any other loose or knocking connections on gross inspection last night. Anything I should be checking?

Thanks

It seems that it could be a differntial or the transfer case- especially because the T-case is leaking. Make sure that there is fluid in it. If there isn't, it's a good opportunity to put in some fresh oil with some white shepard stop leak.
Could be the rear rotoflex as well. They sometimes make noise when they fail.

I hope this video works. This is with both wheels off the ground. I turn one wheel. the prop shaft turns. then the other wheel starts turning the opposite direction. This is normal but is there more play than there should be?

I have seen a lot of transfer cases make noise like that when the chains wear out and start to stretch.

No chains in lt230. I have noise on deceleration on my '03. My fluid was fine in the tc when I checked. Not burnt, no shavings.

I saw at one point a video of the case where the intermediate gear shaft was able to move a bit back and forth. Guy in vid (Ashcroft?) Thought this caused the noise on deceleration because the gears weren't under load, they rattled a bit. I don't know about that, never pulled my cover plate.

I also know there is an old tsb regarding the parking brake shoes rattling at certain rpms due to weak springs and the noise being heard in the cab. Again, haven't pulled my brake drum yet to see.

That is all the conjecture I have to add for the day. Probably doesn't help.

probably exhaust pipe hitting the rear axle and making contact.

Someone probably rear ended the rover before and pushed the exhaust pipe forward.

Mine had this problem.
