Default Running boards for my Discovery II

Hello from Atlanta guys,

i recently purchased a 2004 Discovery with 24k miles from its original owner. I was wondering what would be the best place to get factory running boards. Thanks in advance guys and excited to be back in a D2 after long time.

Nice.

Let’s see pics. I have a low miles 2000 D2 -- although 38k miles. Yours is one of the lowest I’ve heard of in the past few years... mine has been super interesting ownership experience. (people used to well used D2’s freak out when they see it, you’ll probably have the same reaction)

You still have the original molded upper radiator hose without the plastic T? (I did, just curious).

I replaced all coolant hoses, t-stat, all other fluids, etc. Kept everything stock/genuine JLR.

As for running boards, I have seen a few NOS sets come available in the past years. That’s what I’d recommend waiting for -- it’s difficult to source the front mudflaps, genuine hardware /bracket kits for them, and little rubber trim pieces up there btw. You may be buying from ebay overseas.

Why is it important to have the factory side steps? I expect they'll be scarce as hen's teeth now.

I gave away mine to a local guy after I found a pair of Safari Gard sliders here a few years ago.

If I were in your shoes, I'd try Will Tillery. He's in Virginia. He has (or had) a farmyard of now old Rovers of all kinds.

I haven't seen him active here in a very long time, but he used to be quite active (and trusted) in this and other Rover forums. I know he is still active in Rover parts because I still see his listings on eBay.

He always said the best way to reach him was to call, and he was quite liberal sharing his number online so I feel okay sharing it here. It is (540) 462-7363. Good luck.
