A very similar thing happened to me during my college years, although it was in my friend's Chevette. The three of us were riding back to school after a weekend at home. My friend fell asleep at the wheel @ 65-70, drove into the center median (fortunately it was void of trees), woke up, and yanked the wheel to try to get back on the road. The car went sideways, started sliding and then went over and over (and over and over, you get the picture). I passed out because the roof caved in and cut my head. But... long story short, we all were wearing seatbelts. Injuries included a few stitches in my head, back seat passenger had a broken arm, and driver had a few stitches. 20 years or so later, we're all alive and kicking.

Oh - and we were all impressed because even though the car was trashed after all the rolling stopped, the radio (a JVC) was still playing. The first words someone said after we stopped rolling was "Turn off that @!%#& radio!"

My wife fell asleep behind the wheel going 75mph on the NY State Thruway with me and our 1 year old in the truck. We went into the center tall grass median but she was able to keep the truck straight. The DII's ETC, ABS and 4WD probably saved us that day plus a little luck. All I remember hearing is the mad clicking of the ABS, we must of swerved on the grass for about 150 yards but never even spun out, she just drove out and pulled over, I kicked her out and drove the rest of the way. I never will let her forget that and she does not drive on road trips any longer.

When I was 17 I drove my Ford Escort into a tree at 60 mph with no seatbelt, had the meat wagon been 5 mins later you guys would be out a moderator.
2 broken ankles, fractured cheek bone, collapsed lung.
They had to use the jaws of life to get me out, 2 weeks in the hospital one of those on life support, 2 more weeks at home and 9 weeks in a wheelchair.

That is a great pic of your truck.
There was a guy a year or so ago who rolled his DII down a hill, it rolled 10? times and he and his kids walked away.
He posted pics on here.

Ditto Spike: Age 17, 1970 Camaro, passed a car illegally, slid into oncoming traffic. T-boned on passenger side. Friend killed instantly, I hope. I was in the hospital for a month, coma for 2 days, dislocated shoulder, fractured ribs, punctured lung, lacerated liver, fractured pelvis, 2 broken ulnas, left tibeal plateau fractured, torn lateral miniscus. Rehab for 6 months. I still have a plate in each forearm, but they removed the 12 pins from my left knee 2 years after the accident.

My friend and I were not wearing seatbelts. Had we been, things might have turned out differently.

My seatbelt now goes on from habit before I shift the vehicle from park.
