Default SAI and non SAI in donor

I have the opportunity to buy a 2000 DiscoII with a non SAI engine in it. I need an engine in my 2000 DiscoII with SAI engine in it. Is it possible to swap the engine, harness, ecm or no? Thanks for the help..

You'd need to swap the heads from your SAI block to the nonSAI block.

Tech, will that require a flash? Also, can I just pull engine/trans/transfer and plug it all up together. No trans/transfer issues?

No flash. The odometer will blink you have to leave the key in the on position not running for a while to get it to stop blinking

I don't mean to Jack this post but I swapped a 2001 non Sai engine into my 2003 Sai and I'm having backfire issues is it because I didn't swap out the BCM and the ECU from the non Sai.. I really appreciate your help and if it's this easy I can kick myself in the *** because I haven't figured it out since.. again thank you if you can respond to this

The BCM and ECU aren't your issue; those won't cause backfiring under these circumstances. I deleted my SAI. The only issue introduced was a check engine code.

Are you sure you mean backfiring or do you mean misfiring? Still wouldn't be BCU/ECU, but its an important distinction as far as diagnosis goes.

I just checked and everything was plugged in..when the 2001 (nonsai) motor was in the 2001 it was running well I just don't know what's going on right now.. when I put the engine in the 2003 I swapped over the 2003 intake(throttle body, etc) and blocked off all the secondary air injection hoses.. but I kept the 2003 air intake a mass air flow sensor and air box.. so pretty much it's a 2003 body, 2001 engine(nonsai) and 2003 ECU and bcm(sai).. thanks for your help.. if it's easier for you to text me or message me on Facebook messenger (@jorgep1981) my number is 717-424-6700.. again thanks a lot
