Scantool for Discovery II(Td5)
Hi, I'm looking for a scanool that works on a LR Discovery Td5. There are more opinnions about it's OBD compliance, it seems mine(MY 2000) it's not EOBD or OBDII , I want to purchase a scantool for my car but not just for the ECU, my bigger problem is the BCM(U), I know about the Omitec, Autologic, Faultmate, Nanocom, Hawkeye and Dec SS, these are or to expensive, or not flexible enough. It's no problem if the scantool is not a cheap one(I mean not more than 1000USD) if it has a good coverage on my car but I want to use it if I change my car too. I'm interested in any suggestions, oppinions, advice or offers. Best regards

Oh man, sorry I cant really help you much.
I bought mine off of e-bay and it is OBDII that also reads live data, like engine rpm and temp, it was $70 US.
I dont know what kind you would need.
I would think EOBD but I dont know, sorry.
I can help with other problems though so dont be afraid to ask other questions.

Omitec, Autologic, Dec SS are VERY pricey........Not really a DIY tool (unless your loaded)
Nanocom, Is the most affordable and will work on all TD5 systems except the Autobox and Airbags, although they will be added at a later date and you can download them free, although it will only cover TD5 engined Disco 2's and defenders, will cover the "Body modules" on a V8 D2 and the engine may be added later aswell
Hawkeye, is the new tool from Bearmach, reasonably priced, offers full coverage "per model" but you pay to add different vehicles, but this is one thing to consider as opposed to the Nanocom, if you sell your Disco and Buy a Range rover then its useless, where as you can "add" new vehicles to the Hawkeye
