Default scary fun morning

So I am jumping on the expressway with the van this morning. It is raining with snow in the forecast, only 90 stops so its a small day.
Listening to Bob and Tom, sucking on a Mountain Dew and putting along at 80mph when all of a sudden...BANG!!
The van starts to skid, foot off the gas and coast to the shoulder, get out and walk to the passenger side of the van and the dust cap is missing from the hub and the bearingis smoking.
Half the rollers are gone and the race is reduced to metal shavings.
Had the road not been wet this could have ended very badly...but I always have faith that things will work out for the best and they always do.

Yes that did wake me up. No warning either, normally bearings squel or hum really loud when they start going bad.
The contractor that I work for will pay for the repairs and the tow bill. He brought me another van and we had to transfer the load on the side of the expressway and then hesat with the broke down van waiting for the tow truck.
When the wheel bearings went bad on the Disco I had warning, got them fixed ASAP and avoided the whole wake you up and change your pants situation.

So if anybody is having wheel bearing noise get it checked out/repaired ASAP.
