Seafoam how long will it smoke for?
99 disco 2. 162,xxx miles
spokane wa,
newbie here, not sure how this forum works.
i just got my disco one owner, no idea of history of it. looking to do discomikes list. when i do the Seafoam smokeout 1 can intake then 1 in tank, will it smoke for the whole tank of gas? i understand that it has to burn off what you put in the vacuum line, but what about the can dumped into the gas tank? looking to do this once i get the cooling all worked out had the h2o pump blow up last week. not a pretty sight. waiting on a gray 180 t stat.

Seafoam works great as an induction system cleaner, esp their spray can one for doing that with the special hose. But for a fuel system cleaner that goes in the tank I've had better luck with B12 Chemtool(sp?) or RedLine fuel system cleaner. Two cans of Seafoam and about 600 miles of driving didn't fix the stuck fuel level sensor in my M3 but within 15 miles of driving with the RedLine cleaner in the tank the sensor came unstuck and was fine ever since.
I did mine a couple of years ago. It will smoke for 10 minutes or so. I also got a "check engine" light on mine after I did it. I cleared it with an ODBII reader afterwards and it's never returned.
