Seafoam, Significant Power Loss?
I did the seafoam treatment a few days ago, and since it feels like the engine just doesn't have the power it should, it feels like it's asthmatic. Any ideas on what could be causing this kind of behaviour?
Describe exactly how you did the cleaning. I have never heard of any of the additives, being used as an induction cleaner, causing a loss of power.
Well, when I went in to check things the valve cover is leaking like mad and when I pulled the first (magnacor brand new) wire the plug clip stayed on the plug when the boot came off. Now I'm suspicious of the dealership who changed the intake gasket on Thursday. It's also down to the bottom notch on the dipstick.
If the dealership has wrecked the engine, they're liable right? Do they have to cover things like plug wires they broke as well? Would the clip pulling out of the wire be covered by warranty? What is the result of driving a short distance to the dealership on 7 cylinders?

Boy oh boy!!! Same dealer, head gasket job 2 weeks ago which resulted in a very bad ticking sound that they said was normal. I must admit that while I was there, Murphy's law being true to itslef, the ticking sound was not half what it had been in the days preceding. It got worst, and my indy mech friend, who just did my ATF change, decided to look into this ticking sound. He found that the 4 rearmost exhaustmanifold bolts on the driver's side, could easily be turned by hand. So he decided to go even further and removed the manifold, to find that the gaskets were install the wrong way, resulting in all 4 ports on that side, being half blocked by the gaskets!!!!!! So the rest is obvious.....The ticking sound, was the exhaust gases hitting the gaskets, which are made of 3 strips of metal. He checked on the other side, and only one of the gaskets was installed properly, so 2 ports were all right. No wonder the driver's side was ticking louder than the passenger's side.
Anyways, what is the point of bringing your vehicle to the dealer to get a Land Rover expert to work on it, and when you pick it up, you find out that the kid that looks 16 with his pinkish cheeks whichhas been there for 6 months ( probably his first job) was the one doing the job[:@]That's what happened to me, and I wouldn't be surprised ifthis same guy was the one working on yours.
I have yet to go back and confront them with this. So I'd appreciate if you'd keep this info for yourself.
Darover.

Could you refer me to who the indy you're using is. Finding someone reliable with some experience is important to me right now, I'm ready to shoot both of the people I've used and they both had good reputations in the past.
I got a few, but that last friend is one that works mainly on big rigs. The one I usually deal with is Denis at Motus automotive electrics in Gatineau. The guy is an ex-federal employee and he and his employee are quite good. When I was there last time, they had just installed a twin turbo engine in a last model Toyota Supra. Looked awesome!! They know their stuff. Only downer, is that they do not have ramp style lifts. don't know about you, but that makes me nervous. The only reason why they were not the ones doing my HG job, is that the dealer quoted me a make up price for the 2 previous jobs that were wrongly quoted as the problem. So they made up for it.
If you wish, I'll give Motus phone number.
