Default The Secret to 27 mpg... Revealed!

I know every last one of us would love our Land Rover's just a little bit more, if it sipped gas like a 4runner or Honda Pilot.

I had to make a parts run and was out about an hour. When I returned I noticed we '01 DII in the shop for an oil change. After striking up a conversation with the owner (and trying to sell him my spare set of wiper blades), he asked me what kind of gas mileage am I getting with mine? I told him I was really happy to report that I had just averaged 12 in the city and 15 on a trip to the mountains and back... how about you? His response... oh, I'm getting 28 on the highway and about 25 in town.

WTF? When I asked him his secret, he responded with "I'm running the correct size tire, not that big tire". Well I finished up the conversation, about the time my tech pulled the car out front, so of course I decided to check out these magical tires.

Anyone care to guess the size that offers the magical solution to our fuel economy woes?

Poll?

Is this another example of how the mobile apps don't have all of the features they need?

Sure enough. I went to the web site and I see it.

But instead if picking my first guess, I picked the crazy option.

Winner winner chicken dinner! 225 70 16s... he probably has no idea why everyone on the road passes him!

And it definitely wasn't a diesel. What is the total cost for the conversion anyway?
