Default Self leveling?

I was under a 7/99 build truck today and saw this position sensor in front of the rear time. There's one on the other side as well. The truck has LR shocks in the rear as the PS reservoir only has the single cap, but this looks like an ACE component? What's the explanation, converted truck?

Pretty sure that's a height sensor for the SL system, not the ACE.

I have ace with sl suspension delete and these are broken off. Ace still works, so they are only of sl.

Shows what I know. I thought the two systems were part of the same package. How does self leveling work if there's no hydraulic component? Clearly I have done zero research...

Edit, two minutes with the RAVE solved the mystery. I have springs so the SLS has been deleted.

Yeah, my second Disco that I’ll start the restoration on in the coming months had the bags pulled, but the height sensors were still there. The funny part is they not only left the sensors, but had spacers for the mild lift that is on the machine. I’ve actually acquired all the parts and will be converting it back to bags as I love SLS.

Ether way, as you discovered (no pun intended) ACE and SLS are completely unrelated. My only lament with now having 2x ‘04s is that neither has ACE, which is another system I totally love.

At least I know the purpose of the button with the picture of the jacked up rear on the dash now. The air pump is still there too. Anyone use the SLS remote control?? Seven trucks later I've never had ACE, but I want it bad. SLS is intriguing but I'm not sure I'll rebuild it on this one, I was planing on making a beater out of the truck. Only 130k but the White Gold (aka Bronzit) body looks like 230, hate the color. AC blows cold and I own it for a few hundred bucks with a bashed up trans (unscheduled rapid disassembly of front driveshaft). Need a CDL selector shaft for the '04 donor trans if anyone has one for sale. Not a job I want to do later but I've owned the truck for almost 3 years and the Springtime momentum is driving me to finally put a trans in this in the next week or two.

I’d love one of those remotes, but as always, other priorities and I can’t recall if you can add it afterwards.

You are correct for wanting ACE, it’s a great system. Only downside is it’s hideously expensive to fix and some of the key parts are NLA in addition to leaks.
