Default Sensor on brake pad but nowhere to plug it in

Hello all,
First post here.
I just got new brake pads for my '97 Disco. They have an electronic sensor embedded in them, which is something I have seen before on a Mercedes. But I can't find a place to plug them in! Weird stuff. The old brake pads also had the sensors but the wires leading from them had been cut. Also, I read the 35 pages of brake repair literature from the shop manual and there is no mention of any such sensor. I'm assuming that the sensors don't apply to this vehicle, are extraneous, and the leads need to be cut. If anyone has any input to the contrary I would appreciate some direction. Specifically, where the heck to plug the things in!
Thanks
