RE: Service engine light
Bene is correct. LR wants you to replace all four O2 sensors @ 82.5K. This is why the light comes on. No one I know does this as the sensors are big $$. You can turn the light off yourself if you want. Remove the R/F black under dash panel. Then remove the tan kick panel. Then remove the big brown relay that says "TRW". Then insert the big brown relay into the nearest trash receptacle. No more light

RE: Service engine light
This is not a reply, but a question. I have a 94 disco, when a load is put on it, the engine misfires. When I'm going up a hill or taking off from a stop light it has no power, the sputtering sets in and everything. I have a "service engine" light as well. I had a check engine light but I replaced the O2 sensors and that fixed that problem, as far as the "check engine" light goes. I still have a service engine light, according to the on-board fault display, nothings wrong. I know if I go to the dealer it will cost me a boat load of cash....I'm at the end of my rope.....HELP!!! RE: Service engine light
unfortunately rover2 94 disco engine management system doesnt have misfire detection so ........you have to rule out coil, ignition wires, distributor cap and so on.If all these check out to be ok you could be looking at carboned up valves,a common thing on rovers. Also worn cam shaft lobes could be the culprit.take your truck to the dealer or a garage where they know what they are doing and have those things checked.
