Default SES light - Code P1416

The SES light came on today and my code reader said it is a P1416 which seems to indicate something with the Secondary Air Injector system. I cleared the code and the light went off. What should I watch for now or be concerned with?

Thanks.

I can't find the 1416 code, but I don't believe it is a service light for the secondary air, believe it is more of a failure issue.

I've heard of the SAI pump/valve actually getting clogged up, and all it needs is a good cleaning. Once that valve grinds to a halt, it'll trip a SAI failure code. You might want to try cleaning (I think a shot of carb cleaner up in the valve will work...cleaner, soak, compressed air, repeat.

If carb cleaner is not SAI valve safe, please correct me!

Carb cleaner, WD40 or any lubricant/solvent is good. I clean my system about once a year, just remove all the hoses and you'll see the old oil and residue clogging the hoses. Your problem could easily be due to a loose hose, I've now had to zip tie a few on the vacuum pump for the SAI because they begin to slip off. I don't doubt that you could have a bad valve or pump, but try cleaning it and see if it helps.
